Arashi members Ninomiya Kazunari and Sakurai Sho star in this comedy series based on “Yamada Taro Monogatari” by mangaka Ai Morinaga. Ninomiya plays the title character, Taro Yamada, whose family lives in extreme poverty. But because of his looks, intelligence, and athleticism, others mistakenly believe that Taro comes from a prosperous family. In contrast, Sakurai plays Taro’s best friend Takuya, who really is from a successful family and who often helps out Taro in various ways.

First things first (I always have to talk about the most important things first, of course): Why are there tires on the roof?
Anyway, Yamada Taro… I have to say I’m a bit over screaming teenage girls. Didn’t that end when the Beatles broke up? (OK, Japanese Probe proves that screaming teenage girls is still all the rage in Japan. Does this happen in other countries? I’m sure it doesn’t happen to people who go to schools unless that person is Daniel Radcliffe…)
And poor Nino… he’s supposed to be some hot stud but he just looks like a lost, hungry little boy.
Never the less, this episode had some great humour in it, and I loved Sho’s stuck up character from the start. I hope he stays a snob.
Sho’s butler’s line “Something good is going to happen today” was LAME. Why include something so lame in the script? Honestly!
Now here is the real drawback of the show: The main girl is soooo damn annoying. We need more girls who want to do more than marry some guy. Even Rei from Proposal Daisakusen wanted to become a bride when she grew up. Bring on more Makino Tsukushi’s please!
I really liked Sho’s character and he brought some good humour to the show.
I want to shoot that annoying heroine.
Overall, I like it, especially Sho’s curious character, and I’d like to see what develops.
