Yamashita Tomohisa and Nagasawa Masami play a young man and woman who have been friends since elementary school. Yamashita’s character, Iwase Ken, is obstinate and unskilled in love, but he fell long ago for the lively and cheerful woman, Yoshida Rei, played by Nagasawa. But Rei is about to get married to another man. While Ken and other friends from high-school attend the wedding ceremony, a fairy appears and sends Ken back in time, giving him a second chance to win the girl he loves.

This is promising to be my favourite show this season. I’m loving everything pretty much from the whole concept to the execution. I love the many layers there are to this story – well, the layers in the characters. These aren’t just two dimensional cliché characters, they are rounded with faults etc. and I can’t wait to get to know them better. If you know know by now, I’m a sucker for a good character driven story, and that with going back in time, another of my favourite themes, well, I was pretty much garenteed to love this show. This first episode is about Baseball, but having also seen the second episode, I know that this isn’t a show just about baseball. I love that we get to see the characters as adults – me as an adult now, it’s good to see some characters around my age, doesn’t make me feel so old – however we are also seeing these characters as high school students, which is great too. Brings back the nostalgia of those times.
I enjoyed the music, but that’s because I’m a real sucker when it comes to pachelbel’s cannon. I wish it wasn’t such a cliche wedding song because it is just a beautiful song. I didn’t like the “hallelujah” music though, it seemed just way tooo stupid.
I love the idea of the photographs as a medium to go back through time. Hell, I loved this show. Can’t wait to see more.
