I felt Riko's character was getting very annoying, and Night's character was getting too cloying. It gave me the shivers (and not in a good way) when he would blink, flash that white smile and say, "Riko, aisheteru." I was wondering about Mokomichi's acting capabilities in portraying Night, since he was so stiff, & definitely not loveable in my eyes in the earlier episodes. But at the very end though, I thought he portrayed Night satisfactorily so much so that I could understand why Riko would choose him over Soshi. I cried a lot for Mokomichi's character, whom I really did not feel a connection with in the very beginning. Actually, when I first watched the drama, I felt the same way as you.
