Carlie’s Drama List 2009

Inspired by Jonas’/Yonasu’s list “How Many Dramas Will You Watch In 2009?”, I’ve decided to have a page dedicated to the dramas I watch in full this year. I’m interested to see how many I get through!! Come back and visit this page every so often to see what I’ve been up to.

Completed Dramas

• Ikeburukuro West Gate Park

Wow! I was much impressed with this and sorry I hadn’t watched it sooner. It is darker than most with gangs, yakuza, murder, sex… But it is also really funny. I want to re-watch before I review it in full, but my first impression is very positive, and will probably go down as one of my all time favourites.

• Buzzer Beat

I was glued to my TV every Monday! I loved that this show wasn’t about basketball – we saw more of the inside of the change rooms than actual games of basketball. This was about people and relationships between people. I loved it!

• Jin

Wow! I thought this might be ok, but this turned out to be amazing! A great collection of characters. I really enjoyed this show, but there better be a special or second series!

• Bloody Monday

It was like a hollywood movie. Looking forward to season two!

• Love Shuffle

Nothing special at all. Very bland.

• Mei-chan no Shitsuji

In the end I don’t think this was only average. I do think it would have been a good manga and I’m curious to read it, but for a live action it was only so-so

• Voice

It was OK. Enjoyed the banter between characters but the actual story lines were a bit meh.

• Bara no Nai Hanaya

Was a nice, satisfying drama.

• Celeb to Bimbo Taro

Cute, but nothing special.

• Uta no Oniisan

Nothing too exciting…

• Atashinchi no Danshi

After so much excitement over the cast I found this to be falling flat.

• Mr Brain

Colourful characters but Mr Brain, in my opinion needs a hair cut. He’s putting my hair to shame.

• My Girl

Simple dialogue – good for language learners. Simple script…

• Tokyo Dogs

Enjoying this one!
